Let’ em see loveeeeeeeeeeeee!

I bought 8 book shelves from the Habitat Restore last year.  I had every intention to use them for what they were intended, bookshelves.  However, one day I needed wood for a project.  I am not above taking furniture out of the house just for this purpose.  I took the shelves out, painted and cut them in half with my jigsaw.

This was the last painted piece left and wasn’t sure what to do with it.  I have to stare at stuff for a while before I know what it will become.  I swear I have a robin’s egg blue wheel in my sewing room that has been there for almost a year.  I refuse to give up.  I will find a use for that blue wheel somehow, someway.

I received a Michael’s gift card from a dear friend for my birthday.  I loveeeee to go to Michael’s and just walk around.  I could get lost in there for hours.  I usually have to talk water and snacks in with me just to keep up my energy.  Anywho I saw these letters, and they were 40% off.
 $2.79 each.

I used the craft paint I had on hand.  I must have been in a colorful mood.

After the paint dried, I sanded the edges with my electric sander.  I could have just used sand paper but I was a little under the weather and didn’t have enough energy to move my arm up and down in fast repeating motions.

Love this stuff!  This glaze is awesome if you want to dull the paint color and give your project a roughed up antique look.

I add a little water so it’s not as thick and goes on easier.  Yes that is Kid’s Cuisine meal tray.  Only the best for my kiddos!

Brush the glaze on with a foam brush, paint brush, or rag.  The longer you let the glaze sit the darker the color will become.  Use a damp paper towel to wipe off the glaze.

Before Glaze….

After Glaze!
Fun piece of art for a large space for under $15.00!!
