DSC03821 I’m loving bottles of all shapes and sizes lately.  Two tiny bottles were $1.50.

Metrolina Expo Any idea on how to get the sticky sticker stuff off?

DSC03799 These wire lamp shades were my favorite find of the day!  $10.00 each.

DSC03788 See that ugly light up there??  We have two of them.  One when you come in the house through the garage,

Metrolina Expo and another one when you come in the front door.  I think about changing them out all the time, but there always seems like a hundred other things that should be done first….until I saw those wire lamp shades!!!

Metrolina Expo Insert hubby and a few football half time breaks.

Metrolina Expo

I’d love to explain what he’s doing, but I have noooo idea.  I told him this would be a fun project to work on together since I always watch football with him, but my participation on this project was basically pickup and delivery of the lamp shades!

There’s a good product for removing labels, called Goo Gone. It can be bought at the grocery store. That said, WD40 works, also. Either way, just put some on a cloth and rub it off, then wash the oil (or whatever) off with dish soap and water.

Homemade Goo Gone: 1 part vegetable oil, 2 parts baking soda. Keep it in one of your handy-dandy little jars! :)

I will complete the GooGone trifecta. Love the lights, and isn’t that man of yours a looker! You two could be Furniture Rehab Ken and Barbie, but with brains and a sense of humor that the originals were missing!

hahahaha! You made me laugh out loud and blush a bit!!! Too funny!

Dear dear Miss Button. You’ve got vision. I’m reading along thinking. She got totally ripped off for that scruffy picket fence for twenty bucks but those bottles at $1.50 and a bit of GooBeGone–that’s a great price. Then I saw the naked shades and TEN bucks for each and it was a steal??? I was thinking, oh dear. I believe Miss Button was robbed. Fast forward to end result of the naked lamps. I love them!! I just do!! I’ve never looked at any. If I did I didn’t notice them. But wow!! What a difference! The shade shapes were perfect and they were a steal for you did not have to spend (waste?) time removing the fabric! Once again, you win!!! Perfect look. Perfect price. So I withdraw all judgement on my picket rickety fence until further posts, okay? And you look so happy in that photo!
The JOY of The Lord is my strength! Isn’t that marvelous? Not me trying harder. Not me doing more spiritual push-ups. He props me up like a tomato cage props up that full crop of tomatoes on a vine…not with His might, though He could!! But with His Joy!!
May your day be a JOY filled day dear Miss Button!! I’m awaiting your further projects and uses for your bottles!

      Dear Gwen
I always look forward to reading your commments. You always bring a smile to my face and make me laugh out loud! Soooo funny you thought I got robbed! I tried to get both to come down some but was denied!!! Too early on Saturday I guess! Yes stay tuned for the picket fence makeover!!! I promise it will be worth the 20 bucks! hahahah! I was so happy in that photo. Lots of love and laughter in my life right now. Following God’s lead! Lots and lots of love to you friend.
      God Bless you

    Hey Angela!
House looks adorable as usual! GooGone is the bomb and will definitely take that right off. I got some for $1.00 at a hardware store recently and works like a charm. This is Sara Lewinski from New York, the girl that sent you a comment about a month ago about being my long lost sista! I just got my site up and running if you want to check it out and stalk me a little.TeHe! It is http://www.jumpinginthesink.com. Only have a few things up there but at least you could get an idea of who I am. Thanks for the great post as always!

Metrolina Expo?? Love that place! You got some great deals… Those lamp shades are awesome!

I use rubbing alcohol to take off sticky stuff. Works well on glass. ;)

  9. Kate B. September 12, 2013 at 3:00 pm #

Try rubbing peanut butter over the sticker sticky left on your bottle. Rinse and repeat a few times, and if you have an old toothbrush to scrub with it will really be a quick job.

hey girl!! LOVE how the light fixtures turned out!! now i can’t wait to see how the fence turns out! and the sticky stuff on the jars? i soaked them in some dish-soapy water and then used my scouring pad lightly … came right off! xoxoxo!!

I was thinking that nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol works sometimes too (on sticky stuff…) Love your style! And it sounds like you always have such fun! :)

    • angela September 18, 2013 at 11:56 am #

      Thanks Holly!!!
I will try the nail polish before I go out and buy some goo be gone or whatever it is! hahaha!

“Goof Off” is another product I use to remove sticky stuff. And “Mean Green” is just that…does a lot of jobs nothing else will touch!

    • angela October 21, 2013 at 3:06 am #

      Thanks girl!
Who knew that there were so many sticky stuff removers out there!
      lots of love
