The kitchen that was suppose to make me cook.

 Before

Painted kitchen cabinets

It’s been almost 3 months since I painted my kitchen cabinets.  I loveeeeeee the new cabinets and so far the paint has held up great.

Painted kitchen cabinets

We finally painted the green walls a fresh light grey!!!   Painted kitchen cabinets

Painted kitchen cabinets I hung pieces of old wood around the kitchen to give it a old distressed barn feel.    I would love to distress and ding up the cabinets but my husband would definitely kill me, so I’m just going to stick to the wood pieces.

I finally broke down and bought a Keurig.  I had decided against it until I saw this color and I was instantly sold!  I’m such a sucker for Turquoise. Painted kitchen cabinets

And my new favorite addition to my kitchen!!!  My bestest friend Tonya gave me this clock that she made out of old pieces of wood!  Ahhhhhh it makes me sooooo happy every time I look at it!  I love to incorporate handmade gifts from friends into my home.

Painted kitchen cabinets Here’s the back in case you are interested in grabbing some scrape wood and making your own.  You can get the clock parts at Hobby Lobby or Michael’s and they’re so simple to install.

Painted kitchen cabinets So with my kitchen finally finished I am beyond happy with how it turned out.  I am cooking a little bit more just because I love spending time in this space.  Pinterest has become my new online cookbook!  If you have a favorite cookbook that is good for beginners please let me know!!!

Is there a full moon?

If there is a full moon it might just explain a few things.

This past week I have been like a school girl in love.  My head is so up in the clouds I can’t focus or concentrate on anything.  I wore two totally different earrings the other day and accidentally sang to the checkout lady at the grocery store.  I’ve walked into several walls and I’ve burned two things in the kitchen because I just walked out and forgot I was cooking something.  My kids talk to me but I’m not hearing them.  I see their mouth moving but I don’t hear the words. I’m like talking to a wall!   I told my daughter to quit eating with her mouth full.  I don’t know what is wrong with me.  I even took a nap the other day!!  I NEVERRRRR take naps!  I’m like the daydream queen of the year.  I’ve always been a little spacey but this is  ridiculous.

I’m not sad or depressed, actually quite the opposite.  Giddy and silly and plain space cadet city!  The lights are on but no one is home.   Don’t I sound fun to hang out with!?  I just had a birthday.  Could this be what almost 40 is like!?!?

I have started several projects but haven’t finished any except this one.  Thank goodness cause I need something to take to Sanctuary of Davidson.  My space is looking a little bare.  Let me see if I can focus long enough to explain how I did this fun project!!!!

Once the Mod Podge was dry I traced these letters on the back of the wood.  No my husband was not a happy camper with all the ink I used in his printer!  Yes I did print the whole alphabet!

I put on eight layers of clothing to brave the cold and go out in my garage to cut out the letters with my jigsaw.

Happy Monday!  Here’s to a more normal week!  Although having my head in the clouds has been kinda fun!  Anyone else go through these kinda spells?
