Man, am I tired.  I realized it yesterday when someone said that Thanksgiving is next week.  I started to argue, but when I pulled out my phone and checked the calendar, they were right!  I couldn’t believe it, did we have Halloween?  I vaguely remember weird little people walking around my neighborhood but October, did we skip a month?

This is what happens when I get too busy, too crazy, time flies by and I don’t like it.  With Marketplace last week, the Big Sale this Saturday, getting my space at Sanctuary of Davidson ready for Christmas, I feel like a little tornado.

the big sale

This is what my house has looked like for the past month.  If you have come over for a visit and I have held you at the front door now you know why!

the big sale

This is what my garage looks like.  Husband is not happy.  His car has been out in the “elements”.  I have to admit I am a little embarrassed by how much stuff I have for the sale.  When Nester and I first started talking about having a sale, I thought sure I can pull some stuff together.  I had no idea that it was going to turn into the get rid of everything fest that it has become.  I always talk about how I don’t like to spend money and how I don’t “shop”.  Well someone has been doing some shopping around here!  All those Saturday yard sales, quick stops to Goodwill, and dumpster diving adds up.  I have a ridiculous amount of stuff and I want it gone.

the big sale

I am starting to see the light.  Now that I have most of the sale stuff out in my garage, my home looks different.  It almost looks bare and simple, but in a good way.  If you came over you may not notice much of a difference because I still have 8 out of 10 walls covered in artwork but it is different.  My home feels more open, organized, I feel like I can breathe.

the big sale

When you pull this much stuff out of your closet and still have clothes to wear, that’s just too much.  I love my closet now, so empty, so full of less choices, so easy.  Getting dressed in the mornings has been less of a headache and I love it.

the big sale

The Big Sale is going to be awesome.  If you love finding a deal you don’t want to miss this.  I have lots of interesting and odd things that I have been collecting and now it’s time to let go.  Pallet shelves anyone!?  Also have you seen what Nester is selling?  Unbelievable.

the big sale

The Big Sale will have tons of clothes, jewerly and artwork.

Ok see that shutter display beside the owl clocks?  I used it at an art festival back in June.  When I was tearing down my tent, the shutter display fell and bit the dust.  It completely broke apart. HOWEVER I saved every single last one of those little wood pieces.  Yes, yes I did, because I’m weird like that.

trash to treasure stars

They have been sitting in this bucket in my garage for almost 6 months.  Finally the other day it dawned on me what I could use all those pieces for!!

STARS!!!

Lots and lots of stars!  Hubby had no chance of parking his car in the gargae this afternoon.  Geez it kinda of annoys me in the first place that he thinks garages are for cars.  He can be so weird.

Some E6000 glue and some spray paint….

Little bit of sanding….

Anthropologie look on a Dollar Store budget!

Hi There!  Would you take a minute and like Button Bird Designs on facebook?  Why thank you!  Also if you’re interested sign up to receive these posts by email!  xoxoxoxo Angela

As I get ready for The Big Sale, I am looking at my stuff in a whole new way.  Things that are lying around here are either getting tossed into the sale holding area or getting a makeover!  I love Anthropologie and am always inspired when I visit the store.  I once got in trouble for taking pictures of their beautiful displays!!!  I also tried to get a job there but I didn’t get a callback!  Good thing I got that college degree!  When I walk into Anthropologie it takes my breath away, and I want to buy EVERYTHING.  However I don’t want to spend a ton of money just because I like pretty things.  Anthropologie prices challenge me.  They challenge me to create things that have the same Anthropologie feel but at a much cheaper price.
