The freak in the green and yellow sundress.

Hi, nervous here.

I have my art festival today and I feel sick to my stomach. I’ve been up since 4:00am thinking about booth set up, square (I don’t even know how to use), driving into Charlotte and no clue where I’m going, how I’m going to stay awake till 9:00pm when I am already tired and I haven’t even set up my tent. Oh and how am I going to set up this tent by myself!?!?

You would think this was my first art festival. It’s not, I’m just a freak. It’s something about putting your art out there for people to see and then to buy or not buy. The thrill of getting a sell and someone liking your stuff is soooooo exciting, BUT to see people just walk by your booth crushes me just a little bit each time. It’s so much easier to put your stuff in a boutique or shop and then you don’t have to be there to witness how people react to your creations.

Ohhhhh how I want to be a free spirit, laid back, go with the flow kind of person. Someone who completely trusts the Lord and doesn’t worry. I need to go sit and pray. But then I feel so guilty praying for help to get through my silly day when there are hungry children and homeless people sleeping under bridges right around the corner from where the art festival is taking place.

Ok now I am sitting here thinking why am I wasting my time doing art festivals and painting things blue and cutting owls out of wood, when I should be doing more to help the poor and the homeless. See what little sleep does to me.

Ok so will you come see me!?!? I will be the freak in the green and yellow sundress!

Location: NC Music Factory, Plaza Fountain
Cost: Admission and Parking Free to Public
Details: All day event with 4 local bands, 25 local artists, local restaurants, and outdoor patios overlooking the plaza. Rain or shine

Creative Loafing Art & Music Festival

NC Music Factory, Charlotte NC

Saturday, June 16th

Noon-9pm

Admission and Parking Free to the Public

The Festival will feature 4 local bands and 25 local artists. There will be a wide variety of art including ceramics, fine art, photography, mixed media, wood crafters, leather crafters, paper crafts, jewelry, clothing, AND ME!!!!

If you don’t have any plans that day come on out and hang with me!! I am a little nervous about venturing into the big ole city of Charlotte to sell my goods! 12:00-9:00 pm is a longggggggggg time to sit in a tent by yourself! It would be much more fun to listen to some music, eat, and shop handmade goodies with some familiar happy faces! Plus I will need potty breaks!
