Can We Say Obsessed!

So I went to grab coffee with my dear friends Nester and Caroline a couple weeks ago.  Caroline surprised Nester and I with a gift.  First of all if you want to talk my love language, it is gifts!  I let everyone know well in advanced when my birthday is (February 17th) and secretly LOVEEEE to get presents for Christmas even though I tell my love ones that we are trying to simplify and I don’t need anything!  Any who I pulled this beauty out of the bag and almost had a heart attack!
Surely it had taken her days, months, years to make this beautiful knit wrap around necklace/scarf!?!?  She must have stopped cooking and cleaning and taking care of her family in order to finish this amazing gift!?!?  Right!?!?!  I start firing questions at her, how did you make it, how long did it take, who taught you…….
She took a deep breathe and told me a little story about Finger Knitting.
This piece took her 1 hour!  Yes, you read that right, 1 hour.

I literally went straight home and learned how to finger knit.  It was soooooooo easy!!! I had this one complete before it was time to get the kids off the bus!  I even taught my 9 year old daughter how to do it and she hasn’t been able to stop either.  She is making lots of necklaces and headbands for her friends at school.  Such a fun activity to do while spending hours in the car over the holidays!

I am having so much fun trying different colors and different types of yarn.

This one is sooooooo cozy!

I used a skein of yarn to make enough garland for the length of my staircase.  Total time 1.5 hours!

I have been wearing these shorter ones as necklaces or even in my hair as headbands.  They don’t hurt or give you a headache!  These shorter ones only take about 10 minutes!
and you can add your favorite accessory!

Thank you Caroline for sharing!  I love it!!!  Guess what everyone is getting for Christmas!!!

Have Fun!
