I’ll be there in 20!

LOVE.

Last week Nester called and said she and Reeve were getting ready to go thrifting to find stuff for our next craft day.  “Do you want to come along??”  I had just walked in the door from the grocery store and was getting ready to tackle 20 tasks, unload the dishwasher, wash the dog, and get the slow cooker going before the kids got off the bus.  YESSSSSS I’m in, meet you in 20 minutes!!!!!  I’m soooooooooo glad I dropped everything to join my friends.  Not only did we have the best time and I giggled alot……….
I also found this at Goodwill!!!
For $15.00!!!
I love mannequins and dress forms of any kind.  I would have them all over my house if my husband wasn’t opposed to the idea.  Plus I guess having mannequins all over the house might scare me at night, so I stick to a few in my studio.

While I was trying to find a home for my newest mannequin addition, I noticed one of my favorite collections wasn’t living up to it’s potential.

I instantly had a new display for some of my favorite things!

A couple pair of shoes, couple bags, couple loaves of bread…..

My angel friend the Nester and I met for coffee Tuesday.  We are so funny, we usually sit and chat for oh about 20 minutes and then we are both itching to hit the thrift stores!  Before I know it we have hopped in one of our cars and are off, laughing all the way there.  We always have the best time, although I notice we both start walking a little faster as we approach the entrance, I guess we are seeing who can get in there first!  hahahahah

This was my loot from our latest stop at Goodwill.  For under $20.00 I found 2 pairs of new shoes, 2 books, 2 bags, and 2 loaves of bread.  Yes bread.

$.50

The bread man comes most days and drops off all sorts of different kinds of breads..  This is the kind I would buy if I am at the grocery store.  Grocery store price almost $3.00.  Goodwill price $1.15.  I bought it January 10th and the expiration date was January 17th.
$2.99
$2.99
I loved the color of both of these bags. There was nothing really special about either one of them, but for $2.99, I thought I could take them home and try to Anthropologie them up!

Yard sale find.

This stuff is great.  I love pom poms but they can be kinda pricey if you buy them by the yard at your local fabric shop.  At Michael’s they sell this skein of pom poms for under $5.00.

My grandmother made these beautiful butterflies.  I have been saving them hoping to use them in a project.
Buttons

Clover Pom Pom maker!  Best thing I ever bought!  You get 3 sizes for 7.99.  My 9 year old daughter and I both love using it.

After
Can you tell I’m ready for spring?!?!  Love that I was finally able to use my grandmother’s butterflies.

This one didn’t turn out exactly how I pictured it in my mind.  But for a $2.99 I will use it for something!

An Empty Wall!!!! OH NOOOOO!!!

I bought this rubber circle mirror at a yard sale for $8.00. I totally intended to resale it at Metrolina but when I got home I had the perfect place for it. To complete the wall, I added some smaller mirrors that I had hanging in my entry way.

But then I had an empty wall…oh dear. My husband jokes that we are going to have to start hanging stuff on the ceiling. I just love paintings and find tons of beautiful ones for next to nothing on my thrifting escapades! You can read more that here.  Not that there is anything wrong with an empty wall.  I think an empty wall is sooooo much better than just hanging something to fill a space.  A couple of years ago, I got rid of everything that I didn’t absolutely love.  I had a bunch of empty walls.  I have slowly added only things that I love and make me smile.

I found this original painting at Sleepy Poet for under $10.00. I loved the colors and the flowers, however I didn’t love the frame.

As soon as I popped off the frame the colors seemed even more brilliant and the painting looked like it came from a fancy art gallery.

I thought that it would look great beside my giant tree and the fabric hanging in my entry way. But it looked a little loney all by itself.

I had these two original paintings in my sewing room sitting on my window. The butterfly came from Metrolina for .25 and the bird also came for Sleepy poet for $6.00.

They were both painted on canvas board so I had no way to hang them. I grabbed some pin backs and hot glued them on. Not the most professional way or the sturdiest, but i doubt anyone will be inspecting them or yanking on them! Plus I was on a mission to fix that empty wall, no time for professionalism.

I love a good painting cluster!  Here are some other painting clusters I have around my house…….

Does anyone love painting clusters as much as I do!?!?!?!?  What kind of clusters do you have in your house??  Is it weird that I keep using the word cluster??
