Anyone else feel like they’re hemorrhaging money these days?
Between Christmas gifts, Christmas parties, babysitters, tape (I think someone in our house is eating tape just to annoy me), extra trips to the grocery store, live trees, ornament parties, bus driver gifts (shoottttttttttt I just remembered I forgot to pitch in for that), and a million little extras here and there, I feel like our bank account is getting sucked dry. I love Christmas probably more than anyone, however I hate that it has turned into this crazy, stressful, spend money everywhere you turn kind of holiday. I am very frugal, so any extra money spent makes me break out in hives. My husband has to remind me that the kids do deserve to get some gifts under the tree from Santa. Don’t get me wrong, I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee to give gifts (and receive them), but I want it to mean something. This buy just to buy makes me crazy, and me crazier than normal is not a good thing.
|So when I saw this idea from my sweet friend Caroline, I fell in love. Yes, the same Caroline who introduced me to finger knitting and has since turned me into a finger knitting fool.
You can get a pack of 40 lunch bags for $2.00, does that sound right!?!? I bought these so long ago, I forgot what I paid. I am proud to say I have not spent one cent on any gift wrapping paper, bow, tie, tag, or tissue paper this year (except tape). Granted you might get your gifts handed to you in a laundry basket with a towel draped over it like my dear friend Tracy did to her kids one year!! The funniest thing I have hear in a longgggggggggggg time.
|I bought this at Michael’s several months ago. I had my 40% off coupon so I think this was about $7.00. I have since used it a million and ten times.|
