Head in the clouds week 2

Since visiting Never Never Land I’ve had a hard time focusing or concentrating on anything.  I talked a little about it here.  So I got on Pinterest yesterday because that seems to be one thing my brain can handle these days!  I thought I would do a little experiment.  I went through a ton of photographs and pinned the ones that made me smile or made me gasp a bit.  I thought maybe this little exercise would be the key to unlocking the reason I’ve had my head in the clouds for the past two weeks.  I have heard they do all sorts of personality tests based on what you have pinned on your Pinterest boards.  Geezzzzz wonder what my boards would say about me.  Probably that I have too much time on my hand. hahahaha!

Ok so here is what I pinned.  What do you think it means!?!?

Why am I pinning barns and cows and pickup trucks!?  More importantly why am I pinning Bob Ross!?!?!  What do you think it means!?  Do I need to pack up, sell everything, and move to the country?  Do I need to buy a cow or just go to a drive in movie?  Could I have spring fever? Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated!!!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! xoxoxoxo Angela

Spring fever it is! You definitely have it. Looking forward to possibly a little spring yard sale-ing this weekend. There is something around here called Peaches to Beaches and I am thinking of giving it a shot tomorrow. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Jackie! I was thinking about hitting some yard sales too! I think you are right, I’m so not a fan of winter! It is going to be in the 60′s here this weekend. While the kids play outside I think I am going to grab a blanket and lay in the backyard reading my book. Happy weekend.
      lots of love

You have talked about wanting to move out to the country but I agree. You are ready for spring. I’ll bet the daffodils are blooming already where you are. We just got a couple of inches of snow, so enjoy your weather.

      Hi Eleanor!
Have I talked about moving to the country!?!? Hmmmmm interesting, I don’t remember that! Good to know, might help with unlocking the mystery!!! Yes the daffodils have bloomed and I have seen some buds on trees. I can hardly wait! I’m so sick of being cold! I would never make it up north! hahaha!

I think you and your peeps need a weekend in the country where you can enjoy the “happy little trees”! Oh, and I think the real meaning of pinning Bob Ross is that you want to get a super frizzy perm and look like Barbra Streisand in “The Way We Were”! (Can you believe this wisdom and insight is free? What a bargain.)

Oh, I definitely think it means that you need a break from the norm to just enjoy fresh air and be free. Being cooped up all winter definitely does that to me, and I can relate to the fogginess. I blogged about that not too long ago too….I just putter around the house not knowing what I’m supposed to be doing or what’s really happening. :) We need a change of scenery, some sunshine and warm air!

      Hey Dana!
I totally agree with you! I hate being cold so I have been cooped up a lot lately. I love to be outside and I love the sunshine. Your comment stuck a cord with me, a break from the norm to just enjoy fresh air and be free. I was screaming YES YES at my computer!!! My dog is looking at me kinda scared like!
      lots of love!

Ok, it’s somewhat subsided now but for about 6 months i drove my kids crazy because I kept pointing out old barns and structures and old pick up trucks and feeling like I want to stop and take a picture of them….in my head I know I really don’t want a stash of these photos…but just have this strange inner desire to capture something about them… Im thinking for me that maybe it’s a deep seated longing for a simpler time more connected to the earth than to the Internet!?! Or maybe a move out of suburbia to the country?? At least maybe a trip to the mountains is in order ;) I think our brains scream for connections to the “real” 3-dimensional world when we get too invaded by the 2-dimensional electronic world that’s so pervasive these days.

Carey i think you are so right. I hate computers and ipads and iphones and everything else that plugs into a wall. However lately they seem to be taking over my life. I feel like I am always plugged in someway and it’s totally my fault. Maybe a little electronics fasting just might be in order.
      Thanks girl!!!

Easy. You were created to love beauty. You love it, appreciate it, hunger for it, and come alive when you find it. Something in your heart leaps when you see the open fields, the blue sky, the simple bicycle with flowers, because it feeds your soul. You need beauty in your life, like some people need structure, or workouts, or gourmet food, or whatever, but you. need. beauty. This is also why you create such beautiful works of art…it seriously feeds you and makes your heart beat faster and fulfills some big God-gifted piece of your heart. God gave you tons of gifts, girl, and appreciating beauty is one of them!! I only speak with authority because I’m the same way :) and the pictures you pinned made my heart leap a little, too :) A trip to the country wouldn’t hurt, though, either!! xo

Aww, for real!!! I would love to putter around the country with you and hit flea markets in some back-roads towns!! All our country is still under a couple feet of snow up here, we won’t see green grass for at least another 30-60 days. If I ever get back to Charlotte, maybe I’ll take you up on that trip! ;) Or at least buy you coffee! :)

Angela If they were my pictures they would be GREAT memories of my childhood, My hometown still has a drive in theatre. I Loved your pictures, they were feel good pictures, Loving carefree moments. It reminds when the world was simpler, and Bob Ross, was such a soft spoken man, love to watch him paint, he made you feel like you could paint along with him, and create like he did. Thank you for sharing these pictures, they warmed my heart Joanne

I LOVE every picture you chose!! They made me feel young, warm, cozy, and relaxed (I immediately wanted to kick my shoes off and run around barefoot)…which I am very little these days in this stressed out world. Your pictures brought back great memories of trips to the country to see my Great Grandparents….I often wish they were still here in that tiny house so Lilly could have those same experiences….like swinging off a rope swing into the pond by my Granny’s house….or Granny giving us all a Dr. Pepper in the old bottles and frozen Hershey bars after a day playing in the sun…..or sitting by Granny’s knee while she taught me how to crochet…I fear our kids will never know the sweetness of such things.

I think you should embrace this feeling you are having…..it seems like a blessing to me….a well deserved peace. :)

Love those pictures, I think you need to take a road trip with Liz or I to IA. I’m going in about a month but right now it’s still definitely winter there. Some of them remind me of hill country in TX. I think that’s a better trip.
