I bought a couple of statues recently that I just love.
I found this awesome owl at Hobby Lobby. He was $30.00 but with the 50% off sale, I got him for $15.00. Pretty impressed with the math aren’t you!
This naked man caught my eye at Metrolina Antique and Flea Market. I kinda picked him up as a joke, but when I found out he was only $5.00 the joke was over. This naked man was coming home with me.
Found a perfect spot in my studio for my owl friend.
After nakedness.
I found the small green dresser by the trash on the side of the road. I painted it and added dragonfly knobs. The painting is an original that I bought at Salvation Army for $20.00. The lamp came from a yard sale for $1.00 and lampshade is from Tuesday Morning.
You can only imagine how much this statue has made my kids giggle and how many strange looks I have gotten from my husband. Totally worth the 5 bucks.
I especially love that fact that he is totally falling apart and underneath the white paint is a green body that matches the dresser!
Man I love flea markets!! Can I get a heck yeah!?!?!?
My name is Angela Statzer and I love to incorporate just about anything into my artwork. Ranging from recycled materials, vintage items, wood, jewelry, other people’s junk, buttons and fabric, my style is fun and diverse. You can find me smiling at any yard sale, thrift store or flea market. I am a momma to two amazing kids and wife to one hot husband.

love your statues, your dragonfly knobs are killer. I think it’s not so much that he’s naked but that he looks like he’s on the can. I never find cool stuff along the side of the road. Need to get out more : )
Yes Dawn he does look like he is on the can! hahahaha! I will have to share that with the kids as well!!!
love you!!!
Angela
Love it all! LOVE those drawer pulls! As far as the naked man… isn’t that a small repro of “The Thinking Man” of “The Thinker” ??? A famous statue anyway… so when anyone giggles or looks at it strange just say you are trying to “culture” them… lol
Hahahahah! Dianne! That is exactly what I told my husband!! I had some famous culture/art in our house!!

That dresser was an awesome find!! I never find good stuff on the side of the road..even if I did I probably couldn’t fit it in my Dodge Neon! Lol. Also love those dragonfly drawer pulls.
Wow. Love the colors. Of course the knobs are adorable. But, the what pushes me on my heels is sthat fab painting from the Salvation Army! (And, nake man and his chippy green self is too cute!)

Yes Dana! I almost had a heart attack when I found that painting! It had this awful gold frame around it. I wasn’t even in my car, still in the Salvation Army parking lot ripping it off. It is one of my favorite paintings.
loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Angela
Hey, Angie – wanna divulge your source of the dragonfly knobs? If you told me (us) earlier, I done forgot!
Totally cool finds!
Hugs
Laura
Hey Laura!
I found that dresser and bought the pulls years ago. We lived in Greenville SC at the time and I found the pulls at a little boutique in downtown Greenville! You could probably find them on Etsy!
Lots of love to you friend!!
Angela
He is “The Thinker” by Rodin, I believe?
Yeppers! But I like naked man better!
xoxoxo

I love it! I wish I could change things up more at my house. I seem to get complacent with whatever decorating I’ve done. I like it and just stays that way for what seems forever. You inspire me!
Hi Mary
I usually spend so much time making stuff to sell that I don’t work on my house much. Something in the last couple of months has changed and I am having more fun playing around in my house! I painted my dining room table yesterday instead of vacuuming! hahaha It really is fun to change stuff up!
lots of love
Angela
Totally made me laugh!!!!!!
Hi Gwen
Good sleep and a good laugh are good for the soul! Isn’t that how that saying goes!?!?!?
lots of love
Angela
This is your “naked man”. Everybody in Europe knows this sculpture from the famous Rodin.
