I did some much needed cleaning today. Puke. I cleaned out so much stuff, I think I might be ready for another Big Sale! Since my happy place is all clean and organized I thought I would share some photos with you.
This is my happy place. I LOVEEE this room. I create in the room. I read in this room. I pray in this room. I just hang out in this room. Everyone needs a little space to call their own. It could be a large studio or a corner in the kitchen. At our last house my space was in a closet that was large enough for a very small desk. I would open the doors and pull up a chair. I then moved all my stuff into the guest room, where I set up my sewing machine and had a little more room for my growing collection of fabric, buttons, trim, art supplies, and books. The space I have now is right when you walk in our front door. It’s suppose to be the formal living room, but we are not formal people and would never use it for that. I love making good use of the space we have. This room probably gets more use then any other in the house!!!!! Having it right when you walk in the front door helps me keep it clean and organized.
I’m done cleaning and ready to start sewing! Stay tuned, lots and lots of fun unique spring bags are on their way!!!!

This room is precious! I love your vintage style! I saw a post of your home awhile back at the Nester’s and found great inspiration in how you do groupings of art! You inspired many holes in my wall, ha! I really enjoy following you on Pinterest, too!

Always love an inspiring look at your room. It is a very happy place and produces things that go home with others to make them happy too. My studio is hidden away and it’s a gigantic impassible mess right now. I can’t bring myself to go there. I mean you can’t walk in the door. I have even oozed down into the dining room and breakfast room over the past month. Maybe you have inspired me to go up and clean up rather than the thrifting run I was planning before work this afternoon. nah.
Girlllllllll stay home and clean. That is nothing that would normally come out of my mouth, EVERRRRR but i couldn’t believe all the stuff I came across that i was going to use “one Day”. I found enough stuff to keep me busy for months and I didn’t spend a penny!

nope I shopped, scored 3 ladder back cane seat chairs for $3 each that will go straight into my daughter’s kitchen and another antique chair for $6 to paint, reupholster and sell. I definitely need to sort through and work on what I have here but what if I miss something awesome and, well, you get it first??!! : )
Looks great! I have got to get myself in gear and get my space pulled together. I want my space to be like a shot of spring in the middle of winter. That is what your space reminds me of. Definitely a happy place. I am needing that right now. Have a blessed day!
Oooo! It’s fabulous! And inspiring! I love the colors and the vintage things you used to organize. I would love to find some of those wall cubbies! And I think I will “borrow” some of your other ideas as I organize my current space.
In a previous house, I also used a formal living room for a craft room(and a formal dining room in yet another house) and hung some big curtains in the doorway. If the room was a mess -which it usually was – I would just close those curtains. My much-neater husband really appreciated those curtains. Lol.
Thanks for sharing!
Oh Kim that is so crazy! I shut my curtains too when it gets to messy or I have too much stuff out. I love my area where it is because I still fell like I am in the middle of everything that is going on around the house with the kids but working at the same time. I can keep an eye on them when they play outside! I love my formal living room! hahahah
lots of love

Love! That room is awesome…and, can I tell you…my sewing studio space is almost identical!?! Front room (former formal dining room)…large opening to enter, large window…anyhoo…where do you keep your ironing board??? Mine is where your awesome painted morning/reading chair is. Let me know and thanks for sharing…I’m inspired!
Hey Tiffany!
Ohhhhhhhh I would love to see photos of your space and how you set up. I keep my ironing board under the two windows beside my painted blue chair. I didn’t show any photos of it because it is uglyyyyyyyyy. I need a cool ironing board cover! Guess that will be my next project! hahah!

Love seeing all your pictures!! Maybe this will inspire me to go down and work on clearing out and straightening up my craft room! I have a great space but it is out of control right now. Time to get busy because I have soooooooo many ideas of things I want to create but I don’t have a place to work (and I know it drives my hubby crazy when it starts creeping up the stairs and into the dining room!)!!!!
Oh, I love your space! I wish I could get mine under control! It’s so hard since mine is supposed to be a guest bedroom/office/crafty space. Sigh. I’ve just got to purge some (tons!!) of stuff and not think twice about it to at least get me going in the right direction.
You know what helps me a lot when I clean out and purge?!?!? This past time when I cleaned out my happy place I got rid of sooooooooooo much stuff. Like 5 bags full of fabric and just stuff. The whole time I was like I might could use that and I might could use this, on and on. But I had too much stuff, I couldn’t concentrate! So I got rid of all the stuff I didn’t loveeeeeeeee and put it in plastic bags in my guest room closet (yeah you don’t want to open that door)!!! Anywho now I know it is up there iffffffffff I need something. In one month I will donate everything or continue to hold onto it for another big sale.
