I found this box at Habitat Restore for $4.00. I have no idea what made me open it up to see what was inside. I’ve never played Backgammon before but for some reason my curiosity got the best of me.
When I opened it, I could not believe all those beautiful little pieces of wood!!!! (and bugs)!
Remember these!!?!? Four of these cowboy pictures hung in my son’s room before he discovered football and Xbox.
Nester I feel your pain. The photo of her dog here cracked me up and made me laugh out loud. Then the next day I had some of my own dog photo bombing going on (as Ellen calls it).
Dixie May was actually with me when I bought the Backgammon game. Yes I bought the game some time ago and yes I got in trouble for taking her into Habitat, but not as much trouble as when I took her into the grocery store. Apparently that is a big no no.

I was totally in a girly mood……
but also had to go with my favorites!
I cut a few pieces of the wood so it would fit in the freshly painted cowboy frames, then I hot glued all the pieces down.
I found these at Habitat as well! Three sets of letter stencils for 50 cents!
Luckily my friend and boss lady over at Sanctuary of Davidson, Krissy just showed me how to use these stencils and make the letters look pretty. When you use these stencils the letters have gaps in them. See that O up there?!?!? All you have to do is just fill that in with paint!!! Duhhhhhhh how did I not know that!?!?
The left over scrapes from the wood pieces I cut became a separate project. Maybe a little problem with throwing anything away?!?!! You think?

Ahhhhhh you are sooooo very kind!! Hmmmmm I just love color, I always have. I remember painting my light switches bright green as a little girl!! I don’t have any formal training, actually got my degree in Criminal Justice!hahahahaha I guess i thought I would decorate some jail cells! haha I think the more I play with color and paint and fabric the more I see what works best together. As far as photographic skills I don’t have any! I have my camera set on easy and no flash at all times! The edit part on my computer helps out a lot though!
