Ok see that shutter display beside the owl clocks? I used it at an art festival back in June. When I was tearing down my tent, the shutter display fell and bit the dust. It completely broke apart. HOWEVER I saved every single last one of those little wood pieces. Yes, yes I did, because I’m weird like that.
They have been sitting in this bucket in my garage for almost 6 months. Finally the other day it dawned on me what I could use all those pieces for!!
STARS!!!
Lots and lots of stars! Hubby had no chance of parking his car in the gargae this afternoon. Geez it kinda of annoys me in the first place that he thinks garages are for cars. He can be so weird.
Some E6000 glue and some spray paint….
Little bit of sanding….
Little bit of Twine…….
Stars! I sold these at Marketplace this past weekend but I still have some left that I am bringing to the Big Sale!
Will I see you at the Big Sale!?
My name is Angela Statzer and I love to incorporate just about anything into my artwork. Ranging from recycled materials, vintage items, wood, jewelry, other people’s junk, buttons and fabric, my style is fun and diverse. You can find me smiling at any yard sale, thrift store or flea market. I am a momma to two amazing kids and wife to one hot husband.

Angela, I love these and I love how you made them!! So glad to meet you this weekend.

I bought a blue one at the market and can’t wait to hang it up! Love that it came from a shutter…so smart. And my boys went nuts over the adorable tooth fairy pillow. Love your stuff and it was really nice to get to chat for a bit. I can’t wait to see what you end up doing on the etsy front.

Your sheer ability to think of so many ideas AND then actually make them (in many multiples) amazes and inspires me ; ) I was bummed to miss the sale this past weekend because we were out of town.
Thanks Carey!! That’s ok you missed the sale last week because we are having another big sale this Saturday!!!! Are you coming!?!?
lots of love
Angela
What type of glue did you use? I wasn’t sure E6000 glue was ? We found all these wonderful fat short sticks and I thought maybe we could make stars out of them with a little glitter spray for Christmas?? What do you think? Any suggestions
I used E6000 glue which you can pretty much get anywhere. I usually get mine at walmart or Michaels. I think you can actually also use a glue gun if the wood is thin enough! i would love to see photos when you are done!

Those are ADORABLE!!!
Hey – when will you be listing your garage sale items on ebay again? (for us out of towners
Thanks Kristen!
Hmmmmmmmm not sure i am going to be able to list anything on ebay before the sale. With the Marketplace sale last week and then the big sale this week I am way behind. Not sure if Nester is or not. She said she was but I think she is in the same boat as me! I will let you know if we decide we have time to do it this week!
lots of love
