Hi There! Thanks for stopping by! Won’t you take a minute and like Button Bird Designs on face book? Right over there to the right?! Why thank you! Also sign up to receive these posts by email so you don’t miss out on any trash to treasure projects, easy do it yourself tutorials, or all the fun we are having up in here!!! xoxoxoxo Angela
I bought this, hmmmmmmm not really sure what to call it at Oak Street Mill Antiques and Collectibles in Cornelius, NC. If you haven’t been you really should put it on your to do list! I fell in love with the giant white wood piece instantly and had a million ideas for it in my home. I thought about painting the inside with chalk paint and using it in the kitchen as a big chalk board. I also thought of blowing up a photo of our family and Mod Podging it to the center and hanging it on a wall. I loved it, bird poop on it and all!
First I cleaned it up and filled all the holes with wood puddy. A little sanding and then I painted the inside with some grey wall paint left over from my bathroom makeover on the cheap.
Early morning drilling is the best drilling time. Gets your juices flowing and starts the day off right. Yes you can quote me.
I decided I would use this as a display piece for my jewelry at Sanctuary of Davidson. I love to make jewelry but never really have a great way to display it.
Krissy do you remember this!?! This was a leg that came off an old sign that Krissy used outside Sanctuary of Davidson. When the sign bit the dust, Krissy let me take home the pieces. Yes I was pretty much taking the trash off her hands. This has been sitting in my garage for over a year. I thought I might eventually turn it into a stem for a flower but turns out there was a much better use for this piece of broken signage!!!
A little hinge action! I will admit I was just going to prop this display up against the wall and cross my fingers that no one knocked it over. Luckily my husband and father in law had a better idea!
A little chain action.
TA DA!! Now it stands all by itself and I don’t have to worry about some kid getting knocked in the head. Perfect for my cubby at Sanctuary or for Marketplace tomorrow!
My lovely assistant sporting one of my Charm Chain Necklaces. Yes you too can own one of these fabulous necklaces! Please visit my Etsy shop to see a variety of choices!!! ( I am using my best QVC voice here)

Marketplace is an annual fundraiser for The Kilgoris Project, a registered 501(c)3 organization that educates and feeds the children of a Massai village in southwest Kenya. They partner with the community to operate schools, provide daily food and clean water, and foster economic development. A portion of all sales at Marketplace go to The Kilgoris Project. So come and get some Christmas shopping done while supporting a wonderful cause!
Also mark your calendars for Saturday, November 17th!!! The Nester and I are cleaning out our homes, our closets, our garages, our offices, and having a BIG SALE!!!! The Big Sale will have tons of home stuff, tons of clothes, jewelry, art work, home stuff, furniture, books, and did I mention home stuff!!! My house looks empty and I love it! It’s nicer than a yard sale but not as new as retail. The best part about the Big Sale is a portion of the sales will go to Compassion.
When: Saturday November 17th 11:00am to 3:00pm
Where: Wynfield Forest Clubhouse, 15722 Wynfield Creek Parkway Huntersville, NC 28078

You can find me smiling at any yard sale, thrift store or flea market. I am a momma to two amazing kids and wife to one hot husband.

Your displays are awesome! My husband may be going to visit my son in Charlotte Saturday, and if so, I am going to send them your way. Will you be there all day? I think they would enjoy it for the afternoon.
Good luck tomorrow! I can’t be there in person but I’ll be there in spirit…love you! xoxo -stef

Your whatchamacallit that you’ve transformed so beautifully is a mirror from an old dresser or dressing table. The mirror is missing obviously, but the legs at the bottom would have screwed to the back of the dresser to attach it.
Thanks Vicki! You win a million monopoly bucks for figuring it out.
