yard sale finds

Remember this awesome Friday yard sale I hit on my way home from the beach!?!  See that Food Lion bread rack!?  It was $3.00!

Bread rack

I knew it would be an awesome display for my space at Sanctuary of Davidson.  It would also work great for the Kilorgis Project Marketplace coming up this weekend!

A little paint.  A little blue paint of course.

I did a little sanding but just didn’t have time to do glaze and poly.  I had a ton of stuff to sew and make before Saturday!!!!  But when I brought it in the house and tried setting up my owls on it, I realized it needed a back.  So back out to the garage…..

I cut and painted four pieces of wood that I had in my wood stash.  Thank goodness for a wood stash, no time to run to Lowe’s or go through neighbor’s trash.

I nailed the wood to the back of the display.

Ahhhhh, much better!

You are right, that is a great score! Last year I picked up a couple of what looks like a bushel basket attached to a rolling stand, that would be perfect for pillows displayed in it or even your owls would look good piled in. You did great adding the backs. Wish I were able to head that way. Jackie
