Man, am I tired. I realized it yesterday when someone said that Thanksgiving is next week. I started to argue, but when I pulled out my phone and checked the calendar, they were right! I couldn’t believe it, did we have Halloween? I vaguely remember weird little people walking around my neighborhood but October, did we skip a month?
This is what happens when I get too busy, too crazy, time flies by and I don’t like it. With Marketplace last week, the Big Sale this Saturday, getting my space at Sanctuary of Davidson ready for Christmas, I feel like a little tornado.
This is what my house has looked like for the past month. If you have come over for a visit and I have held you at the front door now you know why!
This is what my garage looks like. Husband is not happy. His car has been out in the “elements”. I have to admit I am a little embarrassed by how much stuff I have for the sale. When Nester and I first started talking about having a sale, I thought sure I can pull some stuff together. I had no idea that it was going to turn into the get rid of everything fest that it has become. I always talk about how I don’t like to spend money and how I don’t “shop”. Well someone has been doing some shopping around here! All those Saturday yard sales, quick stops to Goodwill, and dumpster diving adds up. I have a ridiculous amount of stuff and I want it gone.
I am starting to see the light. Now that I have most of the sale stuff out in my garage, my home looks different. It almost looks bare and simple, but in a good way. If you came over you may not notice much of a difference because I still have 8 out of 10 walls covered in artwork but it is different. My home feels more open, organized, I feel like I can breathe.
When you pull this much stuff out of your closet and still have clothes to wear, that’s just too much. I love my closet now, so empty, so full of less choices, so easy. Getting dressed in the mornings has been less of a headache and I love it.
The Big Sale is going to be awesome. If you love finding a deal you don’t want to miss this. I have lots of interesting and odd things that I have been collecting and now it’s time to let go. Pallet shelves anyone!? Also have you seen what Nester is selling? Unbelievable.
The Big Sale will have tons of clothes, jewerly and artwork.
Lots and lots and lots of cool and unique household items.
And if you like to do projects, I have cleaned out my studio and have a tons of supplies!
Everything from brand new upholstery tools to vintage fabric!
I’m also going to set up a little Button Bird Designs area in case you want to do some early Christmas shopping, buy handmade and support a starving artist!
Emily is coming to the Big Sale too, she’ll have her two books Grace for the Good Girl and Graceful to sell and sign!!! Also Reeve may be there singing for us!! Have you heard this girl sing!?!?! Every time she sings I cry, the most beautiful and amazing voice. You can learn more about Reeve, buy her music, and sign up for her email list here.
But the best part and the whole reason for the sale…….. A portion of all sales will go to Compassion International!!!
When: Saturday November 17th 11:00am to 3:00pm
Where: Wynfield Forest Clubhouse, 15722 Wynfield Creek Parkway Huntersville, NC 28078
Hope to see you there!
My name is Angela Statzer and I love to incorporate just about anything into my artwork. Ranging from recycled materials, vintage items, wood, jewelry, other people’s junk, buttons and fabric, my style is fun and diverse. You can find me smiling at any yard sale, thrift store or flea market. I am a momma to two amazing kids and wife to one hot husband.

Angela!! I just told myself I wasn’t going to go to the sale so I would’nt spend any money, but now you posted these pictures! I may see you there after all.
hahahaha! Stacey these pictures are nothing. When I saw what Nester had I almost had a heart attack. I would sell all my stuff and then buy all her stuff! Although that kinda defeats the point!
Hope to see you Friday!
Angela
Did you really mean Friday? or you just having it on Saturday?
Wish I could come! Looks like it will be a great day! I need to have a garage sale too. Good luck!
I know it is going to be great! Praying you sell it all. I am ready to have another one. Need to pull out more stuff.
Can’t believe it, but its working out that I’ll be there! Visiting my husband’s parents in upstate SC this weekend and I am going to make the 2hr drive up to meet you and browse
Will be bringing my little lady who LOVES to thrift shop (she’s 4, Lord help me!). Can’t wait!
I REALLY want to come. I am going to the Southern Christmas show tomorrow with my mom & sister- our annual tradition. And the hours are not going to mesh at all. But maybe I can come on the later side. All of the stuff will prob. be gone but I DO NOT need any more stuff anyway.
Hi Erin!
I was hoping I would see you at the sale!!! I have heard that Southern Christmas show is amazing! It has been so great gettting to know you over the computer, we need to get together in real life since we live sooooo close!!!
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Angela
I SO wish I could have gone. My mom & sister are the slowest people in the world and we didn’t get out of the Southern Christmas show until almost 5:00. Yes, we are going to meet up darn it. And I already can’t wait.
Ugh! Your posts and pictures about the big sale are torture!!!
Why is NC so far away??? I hope you have great success! Wish I could be there.
Oh Cally if you could have been there that would have made a perfect day even more perfect! It was lots and lots of fun! We are talking about doing it again. This time you will have to come! A little mini trip!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Angela
My friend/neighbor Karen White invited me to go to the sale on Saturday. I had no idea other DIY/crafty bloggers were right around the corner! I hope to make it. Looks like oodles of fun!!

Angela
Hey Angela!
I’m glad you did so well. I would love to get together sometime. Just let me know when you have some time. No one blogs in my world, so I’m really excited to chat with you!
We didn’t officially meet on Saturday. It was crazy, but good crazy! I could barely keep track of Karen in that crowd!
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
Laurie
Can’t wait to hear how the sale went. Your pictures made me want to go through my stuff too. Especially for the sake of less choices and keeping it simple when I get dressed in the morning… Waaaaay too many clothes that I never wear.
Hi Katherine!
Yes getting rid of all those choices in my closet has been such a blessing. I love it!! So much easier to get dressed in the morning! I would suggest everyone getting rid of half of their closet in a heartbeat!
lots of love
Angela
