Hubcap Flowers

Remember these hubcaps I bought for .99 at Salvation Army while in Virginia visiting family!?!?!  My mom didn’t say anything when I threw them in the cart.  She gets it.  My husband did however make a few smart comments as they laid on my desk for about a week.  I think one time he asked if I was building a car, one time he asked what car I knocked off…etc.  You get the point, no need to justify his remarks by repeating them.  I knew I had to do something with them just so he would shut it.

Awesome spray paint that my dear husband picked up for me!  He “gets it” sometimes too!

A little sanding.

I can’t throw anything away.  I know the second I toss something out or donate it, I am going to need it the next day.  I have been holding on to these broken shutter pieces since last summer when I made these…..

Yeah not sure what they are, but I called them shutter art and was thrilleddddddd when I sold them!!

So I’ve been hanging onto the left over shutter pieces since last summer and finally found a use for them!!!!

Remember these wood flower shaped bowls that were .49 cents each from the thrift store?!

After a little spray paint and a little distressing the wood bowls became the center of my hubcap flowers!

Who wouldn’t want a bag of lids for .50 cents!?!?!

So run out and rip off your neighbor’s hubcaps and make yourselves some hubcap flowers!  Or you can buy mine at Santurary of Davidson!  I know shamelessssssssssssss!

Angela, I always can’t wait to see what you do with your finds, what fun. WOW, I am not a good finder, but those lids, I have a piterest find where someone made a wreath with old lids, it looked great. Just love your inspiration and imagination.

    Angela,

My favorite is the brighter of the two! You’re so inventive! What a great idea! When you first posted about turning them into flowers, I thought, “hmmmm.. wonder how that’s going to work out!” You certainly did it!! I was at a yard sale last weekend and saw some of those wooden forks/spoons that you had awhile ago and thought of you!
Maybe once I clear out some of the things in my house, my husband wont mind so much if I bring new things in to “create!” :)
