You know how God blesses you by putting certain people in your life? Well for me one of those blessings is my sister in law, Beth.
I met Beth years and years ago though my best friend and college roommate Jen. Fast forward to a few years ago. I was hanging out with Jen and we were talking about Beth and my brother Steve. Both Beth and Steve had just gotten out of long term relationships. Jen and I looked at each other and started screaming! We have to set them up!!! They would be perfect together!! (Insert many squeals and high fives here). Beth and Steve had never met, would they be willing to go on a blind date? I called my brother, Jen called Beth. A blind date was set for a couple weeks later. That was three years ago. Steve and Beth are now very happily married. Yes Jen and I are VERY proud of ourselves. I actually set my brother up with one of my dear friends and now she is my sister in law!hahahaha!! How much better can it get.
We sit across the table at family functions and giggle. We spend weekends together, go on trips together and get shhhhh by my husband and brother for laughing and being too loud in public places and restaurants. When we are together hours turn into minutes. My kids love her more than Santa Claus.
.
She is one of those people that brings pure and complete joy into your life. Just being around her makes me feel happy. She is always smiling and always so upbeat. She sees humor in everything around her. Everything you do with Beth turns into a fun adventure. Even a trip to the grocery store with her and I am tripping over my feet laughing. She makes my cheeks and stomach hurt from laughing so hard. Everyone should have a Beth in their life.
Coming home this week was going to be hard. Very hard. I am attending the funeral of one of my dearest friends tomorrow. But seeing Beth and spending time with her has made me smile, laugh, and reminded me how wonderful and fun life can be.
Steve and Beth just bought their first house and moved in a few weeks ago. I loveeeee older homes. This one was built in the 1920s and has so much character and charm, I could live on the front porch. I was so inspired by their beautiful home that I wanted to share it with you. The way they have incorporated the things they love in decorating their home makes me want to go buy plants, pull out my books, and frame photos of my family. I hope these pictures inspire you as much as they have me.
Anyone who collects these are alright in my book.
Another way to be inspired…Go see Katy Perry’s new movie. Make sure you have two fun girls with you, lots of popcorn and the theater to yourself. Warning…. singing out loud and dancing might just take place.
Thank you sister for bringing so much love and joy to my brother and to me and my family.
We love you.
Fido.
LOVE that house. so covet!! that is my favorite style. Are you aware that your sister in law looks like she could be your sister? : ) Thinking of you today and praying for you in what I hope can be both mourning and laughter. These days remind us that God's plan is perfect if “only” because we know death is not the end and no longer has power over us. Still isn't “fair” though in my head.
Love everything about that house! And another thing you and I have in common… I also have a brother named Steve
Love this house and your new blog look:)
And YOU!!
So glad for you to have Beth in this time, especially. Great house–I saw things that you may have made? Like the new webpage design, too.

This is a gorgeous house! I love the decorating, esp. the turquoise figurine painting, hanging on the brick. Then the color is picked up again in the dining room. Sweet! Thank you so much for sharing. It gave me tons of idea to help brighten up our new home. {{{HUGS!}}}
