| Last year my daughter got off the bus carrying this amazing creation. “What the what is that!?!?!?!”, I yelled, I mean I asked. Her third grade class had made these beautiful stars for a Christmas project. I marched her in the house and made her show me step by step how to make them. I promised myself this year for Christmas my house would be nothing but big paper stars EVERYWHERE. So far I have three complete…..hmmmmm. I’m well on my way and thought I would share how to make these easy and cheap Christmas Stars! |
Can't wait to try those. Looks like a good project for this weekend. Jackie
saw these last night at Sanctuary, they were so gorgeous, I expected them to be super-hard. Just found my new project for the day. Sorry, dishes, laundry, vacuuming, bathrooms. . .
Also have one of your adorable quilt pins on reserve, now that I found my coat again.
Yes Dawn! No time to clean the house!! The stars must be made! hate i missed hanging with you guys last night! Hope you had a great time!
love Angela
Hi Jackie!
Send pictures when you get them done!!!! They look so festive!

Those are great! Guess if elementary school kids can do it, I should be able to, lol. What size paper, or doesn't it matter except for size of star?
Love them Angela!! Wonder if tissue paper would work?
I loved them so much I immediately made three to hang in the windows in our sunroom. My camera battery is recharging but I'll definitely take a picture and send it to you. They were so easy and turned out great! Thanks for the instructions.
Really stunning! I am going to give this a try and maybe sprinkle some glitter here and there too! What a wonderful and inexpensive decoration. Thanks for posting the directions!

Hi again Angela
I posted about making the stars and told them where I got the idea so you may have a few people stopping by to take a look!

I just used regular computer paper. when i used the sheet music I cut it down to the same size. I haven't tried other sizes!
Hope this helps!

Not sure about tissue paper! It might be a little flimsy. Give it a try and let me know!!!

This is just so darn cute. My 10 year old daughter (and her twin brother actually) would love to make these!! I am pinning it to add to my stuff to make for holidays. Thanks for sharing!
I gotta say that I love these! I made several to hang up at work and also more for in my home:) Everyone at work keeps asking me how to make them and I've even had some people that I don't know see them through my office window and stop in to ask about them! Thanks for the fun and easy craft!!
I've been making these (and in various other renditions)for decorating at the Christmas Village Toy Store at church. And enlisting my friends ; ) So easy, so cheap, big enough to make a statement and recyclable to boot! Thanks for posting!
These are so pretty. Thanks for sharing the step by step.

Holy moly! I LOVE THESE. Thanks for the tutorial! I am making one as soon as I get home!

How gorgeous! I absolutely LOVE the one made out of sheet music. I actually went and made one as soon as I saw this post. (It's out of different colored cardstock. So pretty!) Veru glad the Nester posted this… I'm your newest follower!
Hi all – found you via the Nester's site and saw your festive stars. All day at work, my fingers were itching until I got home and pulled my very puzzled son into the dining room where we made them. It was sooooooooooo much fun and everyone who has dropped by to visit has loved them too!!
Oh my gosh. I am so excited. My best girl(13) and I just made some. I made mine out of 12×12 Christmas scrapbook paper in 2 coordinating patterns. I alternated my papers, and I LOVE the results. It's huge – but I have it hanging at my sliding door in the kitchen. Thanks for the tutorial!!! Merry, merry Christmas!

What is the fabric you have hanging in the doorway? I love it! And, the stars are awesome!
these snowflakes/stars are AMAZING and it's july! i am so glad i just found this! i am in charge of our church's christmas party AGAIN this year and want to do a “White Christmas” theme. How about we make a bajillion of these and hang them from the ceiling?
But that's enough about the stars… THAT CURTAIN! where? how? how much? why isn't it in my house right now? tell me.
I really like the sheet music star !
Thanks Mindy!!

Angela, this is so creative! I love it. I did have to read thru the tutorial a coupe times, cuz I’m slow like that when it comes to snowflake-like tutorials…haha!!! That, and the fact that it’s 11:45 and I’m not in bed asleep may have something to do with it!!
That would be the word “couple” … See what I mean?
hahaha! You made me laugh out loud!
xoxo
