I think this is called crafting wire or florist wire, I found it at Micheal’s. Cut and twist so you have a stem and couple little leaves.

Glue fabric to the wire leaves and let dry. Then cut around the wire leaf. I used my hot glue gun to glue on the yo yo flowers and buttons.

|
I wanted to use coffee beans to fill these cans but it was a little too expensive. I used black beans instead.

Here are some other uses for those tin cans!
My name is Angela Statzer and I love to incorporate just about anything into my artwork. Ranging from recycled materials, vintage items, wood, jewelry, other people’s junk, buttons and fabric, my style is fun and diverse. You can find me smiling at any yard sale, thrift store or flea market. I am a momma to two amazing kids and wife to one hot husband.

This is such a cute idea! It makes me want to use up some of the cans I've accumulated before our next trip to the recycling center.
love those cans, why didn't I think of that?? Where do you find your adorable fabrics? I had a 92 yr old client at the nursing home that made yoyos, it was such a great thing for her to have some sewing left to do every day. Family loved to have them from mamaw to use in a number of different ways. Maybe I'll have to institute some kind of longterm project with these at work with the flower garden. I'll use even cheaper styro with a thinnish layer of beans on top : )
Having fun reading your bits as usual!

Happy Monday! I just started following you about a week ago and I must say, you are so creative! We share a love of birds and buttons. How can anyone not love the two!
So cute I have some fabric scraps laying around that I think I know what to use them for now.
Hi Dawn!
Yes my grandmother made yo yos as well. She turned them into beautiful quilts! Thanks so much for sharing!
