Momma Got Some New Jeans!

I Love Clothes. and Shoes. ALOT. I am trying to talk my daughter into being a shoe designer when she grows up just so i can get some new kicks for free. Even though i love clothes, I am too frugal (cheap) to pay mall or department store prices. 85% of the clothes in my closet are from thrift stores and yard sales. I bought this dress at Salvation Army. It was originally $5.00 but since it was Wednesday and half price day, I got it for $2.50.

This shirt was $2.00 at a yard sale and the skirt was $2.00 at Salvation Army (half price day again)! Not a bad $4.00 outfit!

Shirt $1.00 at a yard sale and $4.99 Skirt from Goodwill.

I think I paid either $10.00 or $15.00 for this jacket at a yard sale. WAY more than what I would normally pay but I loved it and it was brand new.

My favorite colors!

I grabbed this up at a yard sale this year and have worn it almost everyday. $2.00
I found this sweater at the same sale for $1.00. A little something for the cool summer nights that we are NOT having here in NC.

Seriously almost broke my back jumping over a table to get to the almost band new Kate Spade boots. I am a summer girl but I am ready for fall just so I can wear them.  $5.00

When I saw these jeans at a yard sale for $2.00 I bought them right away. They were the right size, right length (XXX short) and right color. I like some beat up jeans as much as the next person but this gigantic hole near the girlie parts was something I was going to have to fix.

I grabbed some left over fabric from a bench that i had just recovered,

some pins,

some pretty thread,

and laid out the patches where I wanted them to be sewn on.

I sacrificed myself for you and had my picture taken with the jeans on. YIKES!!! The pictures I took of them laying across the chair just didn’t do them justice. We will see if the thread holds, but if it doesn’t I will just get out my glue gun and glue them on. With only $2.00 invested in these jeans what do I have to lose!

(if you want to get some strange looks from your husband, dress up a maniquin and take pictures of it in your entry way right when he gets home from work)!

Oh my gerdness!!!! I LOVE that coat!!! Ok I love it all but I don't actually own a coat (1. It's Texas and it's hot 9 months of the year and 2. I have a hard time paying so much money for something I'm gonna wear from the car to whatever building I'm going into that will have the heater on). I cannot believe you got it for $10-15!

And the patchwork jeans…my favorite 8-year-old Gap jeans have a hole in an inappropriate place so I'm gonna try your trick.

You are just the bee's knees :)

*sigh* I will resume the search. But if your legs are as short as mine…then KUDOS to you because the length here looks perfect! No hemming? Say you swear?
ps-she's right, you are the bee's knees!

Ok girl – you truly are a kindred spirit. Honestly, I want to do a frugal Fashionista fashion show at Becoming. How daring are you? Will you model a few of these?? I know, CRAZY , but the ladies would LOVE IT. Corral the nester and let's do it. XOXOXOX
