I received an email from my new friend Tracy, of Charlotte Boston Design, asking if I could use the other half of an old antique door she had. I couldn’t type fast enough, YES YES YES!!!! I asked if I could come pick it up in the next two seconds. I figured I would probably have to drive deep into the heart of Charlotte. I am not fond of traffic, 4 lane roads, or anything to do with driving for that matter. But it was worth it, I would have driven anywhere to pick up this awesome door! She sent me her address and I laughed out loud. She lived 4 streets over!!! I could have walked to her house.
When I walked in her house I think I gasped out loud. In the entry way she has this most amazing display. Do you see what she did with her half of the door!?!? Fabulous!

I love to see real plants in homes. Unfortunately I did not get the cooking or the growing of the plants gene.

She bought this BEAUTIFULLLL coffee table at Metrolina.
In a frenzy, I started clicking pictures to my left and to my right. I wanted to beg for a tour but i kept my cool. It was my first time in her house. I am probably going to start stalking her and then she will have to let me in her house again. Then I will ask for a full tour.
She asked me about upholstery and then showed me this chair that she bought at Goodwill for $35.00. It was in perfect condition but she wasn’t happy with the fabric. I begged and pleaded, I even got on my hands and knees asking her, please don’t rip the fabric off, it was so beautiful. I even offered to give her one of my old yucky chairs that needed to be reupholstered in exchange for this one. I don’t think she thought it was such a good deal!haha

Another chair in her front room. Can you imagine what the rest her house must look like.
I took a couple more pictures and then skipped to my car with my half of the door. I promised I would send Tracy a picture of what I did with the her gift.
Not as cool as her hanging display door but I like the way this turned out. I don’t know where I am going to hang this yet or if I am going to take to it the Sanctuary. Right now it is sitting on the bench in our entry way. I figure for the 324 kids that are running though my house on a daily basis this summer, it is a good little reminder to love each other. Especially the two kids that call this place home. STOP FIGHTING and LOVE!!!!
So nice to meet you Tracy and THANK YOU for the door!
My name is Angela Statzer and I love to incorporate just about anything into my artwork. Ranging from recycled materials, vintage items, wood, jewelry, other people’s junk, buttons and fabric, my style is fun and diverse. You can find me smiling at any yard sale, thrift store or flea market. I am a momma to two amazing kids and wife to one hot husband.

YES I DO WANT THE DOOR!
