Recycled Book Art and Giveaway!!

These recycled book flowers are so easy and fun to make.

I loveeeee the old Reader’s Digest Condensed Books.  They have the most beautiful covers.  You can find them at any thrifts store for about $.50.

Add Modge Podge to all the outside pages.  Put something heavy on top and let sit while you eat breakfast.

Once you are done with your eggos, your book should be completely shut.  Now you have a canvas to create on.

Cut out petals from left over scraps. (sorry about the picture.  Photography and cooking, I just don’t get)

Sew or glue the petals to something a little heavier to make the petals more stiff.  I used burlap.  Also try to smile while you work!

Add Bling.  Use pins, old broken jewelry, or buttons.

Some how pom poms always find their way into whatever I am making!

I love to use old zippers for the stems.  I am so happy that my grandmother was a pack rat!

Hot glue everything on.  I swear if the house was on fire, my glue gun might be the only thing I grab!
I made this for my friend who constantly encourages and inspires me.
and this one is a giveaway!

    Hi Angela,
I thought of another genius idea for the RD book covers! If you want to reply on my blog, I will let you know…I think you of all people could sell them like hotcakes. I also want to ask if you've ever worked on a piece of painted furniture that had some veneer missing. I found one for $30 this weekend that I can't decide if it would be worth it.

    Thanks! Brandy in Texas
