“Becoming 2011 is a weekend designed to encourage and inspire women to live intentionally by becoming more creative, purposeful, and frugal. As women, many of us desire to be more intentional with our time and financial resources; more intentional with our family and homes. As we gather from all walks of life, we will tackle some of those day to day issues that typically seem mundane. Our desire is that you will leave, not only refreshed, but encouraged, empowered, and motivated with the practical and tangible ideas you have received. Hopefully, by tackling the mundane, they will now have a sense of magic.”
The three themes for this amazing, exciting weekend will be:
Becoming More Frugal: Jenny, from SouthernSavers.com, and Jen, from Balancing Beauty and Bedlam, will be talking about all things dealing with saving money. Some of the many topics will include how to slash your grocery bill, meal planning, saving in the kitchen, personal finance, budgeting, and creative living within your means.
Becoming More Creative: My angel friend, The Nester and I will be taking on this track! The Nester will be doing what she does best, encouraging everyone with her motto, it doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful! She will talk about home decor, working with what you have and embracing the beautiful aspects of your home. I will be speaking about turning trash into treasure. I will show how to turn that thrift store find into something beautiful and usable. Learn step by step how to paint, distress, and glaze a piece of cast off furniture into a work of art.
Becoming More Purposeful: Rachel Van Eerden, mom of 11, (I did not type that wrong, eleven!!) will talk about becoming more intentional with family, finances, and home. She will share how to create purposeful moments in your home and life. (I will listen to anything a mother of 11 has to say!! haha)

I am having so much fun reading your blog…I found you via your friend The Nester…I am very inspired by you and your “works of art”…I am opening up a booth at the local antiques mall in my small East Texas hometown on July 1st and I am so excited and terrified at the same time! I have no idea what to charge for my hand painted pieces and finds and what if no one “gets it”? I'm starting small with side tables and small chairs but my eclectic blend of colors and fabrics might not be the local cup of tea, ya know?
Anywho, I just wanted to say that I feel inspired after seeing your work and that you just seem to go for it!
